GlobalAssist Launches in Madagascar with MadaAssist

Introducing MadaAssist – Our First Step

Today marks the official launch of MadaAssist.com, the first country service under the GlobalAssist network. With this, we start our mission to simplify travel and daily life in emerging countries – for both visitors and local communities.

How It All Started

My inspiration for MadaAssist came during my own travels through Madagascar. I had a local SIM card, but it only included data, not voice call credit, my French was shaky, and most taxi drivers didn’t use WhatsApp or speak English. But I had local friends. I would text them in English, and they would call the local providers for me, negotiate prices, and confirm everything. It worked surprisingly well – and that’s when it clicked: This simple concept could help many travellers like me, and at the same time offer paid work to the locals who helped me.

About MadaAssist

MadaAssist was created to make life easier – both for travellers and for the Malagasy people. Our mission is to make Madagascar more accessible for tourists and, by doing so, support the tourism sector and improve the wellbeing of local communities. Malagasy people often say: “La vie est dure” – life is hard. And it’s true. Over 80% of the population lives on less than €2 per day. The local currency loses value each year, making life even more difficult.

A Hidden Gem Waiting to Be Discovered

Madagascar is a breathtaking island, rich in nature, culture, and experiences. Yet, it remains one of the least-visited countries in the region. Only about 300,000 tourists visit annually – a small number for a country of nearly 30 million people. By contrast, neighboring destinations like Mauritius and Zanzibar welcome far more tourists relative to their population. Madagascar deserves more attention.

Solving the Practical Problems for Travelers

One of the biggest challenges for travelers is the lack of infrastructure and digital services. There are no Uber-like apps, limited access to reliable taxis or deliveries, and very few English-speaking service providers. This can be frustrating for international visitors who are used to convenient online bookings and instant messaging.

How MadaAssist Works

MadaAssist connects travelers with a local team of booking managers via WhatsApp. You simply send a message with your request – whether it’s a taxi, a tour, a car rental, a food delivery, a massage, or even an event. Our team handles the rest: We make the phone calls, negotiate prices, book the service, and handle payment locally. You get one simple, all-inclusive price, which you can pay online – with free cancellation up to 24 hours before the service.

Empowering Local Communities

With MadaAssist, over 90% of the money spent by clients goes directly to Malagasy providers, drivers, guides, and our local team. Less than 10% goes to foreign suppliers. This is not just a booking service – it’s a way to directly support the local economy. Every request helps generate fair income for local workers, creating a more sustainable tourism model.

Our Vision

MadaAssist is just the beginning. Through GlobalAssist, we plan to expand into many more countries, using the same core model: WhatsApp-based assistance, real-time local coordination, and digital payment options for travelers. But our heart and soul will always remain rooted in our first launch – right here in Madagascar.

Let’s Build a Brighter Future Together

Our dream is simple: to help travelers discover Madagascar while improving the lives of the people who call this island home. We hope that, with MadaAssist, the Malagasy people will one day say: “La vie est mieux” – life is better now.
