Introduction
At GlobalAssist, our team is the heart of everything we do. That's why our recruitment process is designed not only to assess skills, but to make new talents feel empowered and welcomed from the very first step. Today, we're excited to share the story of Samwel from Dar es Salaam, who completed his trial day just today and is now officially joining the GlobalAssist team full-time as a Booking Manager for our Tanzanian branch, TanzaniaAssist.
We sat down with Samwel to hear about his journey through the application process – from discovering the job listing to his experience on the trial day. Here's what he shared.
First Impressions & Motivation
Samwel first came across the job opportunity on LinkedIn. As someone already familiar with the travel and service industry, he was immediately intrigued by the possibility of joining a fast-growing, international team focused on flexible remote services.
“What caught my attention was the chance to earn extra income while also contributing to a growing initiative in the Tanzanian market,” he shared. “I felt this role could give me both personal and professional growth.”
He also noted that the job description was clear and informative, giving him a good understanding of the expectations and responsibilities involved.
Application Form & WhatsApp Automation
Samwel described the application form as easy to complete and well-structured. “Everything was straightforward. I didn’t have to guess what was needed,” he said.
Shortly after submitting the form, he received an automated message via WhatsApp – a unique feature of the GlobalAssist hiring process. “The WhatsApp automation was super helpful,” he explained. “It gave me clear, step-by-step instructions and made me feel like I wasn’t just sending a form into a void.”
The Quiz Experience
As part of the recruitment process, Samwel completed an online quiz designed to test applicants on language skills, customer service instincts, and situational judgment.
“The quiz was fair and tested skills that actually matter for the job,” Samwel noted. “I liked that it wasn’t just theoretical – it reflected real-world situations I might face when working with clients.”
Quick and Personal WhatsApp Feedback
Results and feedback were delivered promptly through WhatsApp, which Samwel appreciated for its speed and personal feel. “It felt like I was in a real conversation, not just an automated process,” he said.
He emphasized that the instructions were clear and timely throughout, helping him stay confident and informed at each step.
Communication with the Team
Once he passed the quiz, Samwel was introduced to the team via WhatsApp, where he interacted with the Booking Manager and the Country Manager for Tanzania.
“The communication was smooth and respectful. They answered my questions and made me feel comfortable. It was clear they wanted to help me succeed,” Samwel said.
Preparing for the Trial Day
Samwel received a few resources to prepare for the trial day, including access to internal tools and brief training materials. “I relied on my previous experience, but the resources helped me understand how things work at GlobalAssist,” he said.
He particularly liked the simplicity and practicality of the instructions. “Nothing felt overwhelming – everything was clear, and I knew what to expect.”
The Trial Day in Action
On his trial day, Samwel jumped into action, assisting real clients with travel-related inquiries via WhatsApp. “I handled bookings, answered questions, and made sure each client got a smooth experience,” he explained.
With support from an experienced Booking Manager and feedback from the founder himself, Samwel felt guided and supported. “The founder gave direct feedback on how I responded to clients. It helped me understand the tone and quality standards expected here,” he said.
One thing that surprised him was the flexibility in handling tasks. “We get to assign ourselves the requests instead of waiting for a supervisor – that level of trust is amazing.”
Looking Back: The Skills and Lessons
Reflecting on the day, Samwel shared that his customer service background helped him the most. “It was all about clear, friendly communication – I’ve done that before, so I felt ready,” he said.
He described the experience as interesting and energizing. “I learned how to use the platform, how to manage time effectively, and how to be both independent and collaborative.”
Tips for Future Applicants
- Be confident: “Walk in like you own the place – that mindset really helps.”
- Prepare by reading the instructions carefully: The pre-training and quiz prepare you well if you pay attention.
- Embrace the flexibility: If you enjoy independence and responsibility, you’ll love this job.
Feedback on the Recruitment Process
When asked if he had any feedback on how to improve the process, Samwel said everything was smooth and clear. “No steps felt unnecessary or too long. It’s one of the most organized and personal recruitment experiences I’ve had,” he said.
